LEADERSHIP INNOVATION NETWORKING COMMUNITY
LINC is a comprehensive experiential learning program designed to help participants acquire knowledge and awareness of our community and its opportunities and challenges.
The ten month course in community learning consists of some classroom discussion and lots of class days spent touring and experiencing McDowell County. Topics of discussion include leadership awareness, group dynamics, communication, problem solving, and managing change.
Participants will gain insight into practices and objectives of local public, private and non-profit organizations and will also develop a broad sense of critical issues affecting our County.
Upon successful completion of the McDowell LINC program, graduates will be awarded a Leadership Certificate (including Continuing Education Units) from McDowell Technical Community College and the NC Dept of Community Colleges.
See the McDowell Chamber of Commerce website for more details under McDowell LINC Leadership tab. The program is made possible by the sponsorship of McDowell Chamber of Commerce, McDowell Tech, and partners City of Marion, Duke Energy Corp, McDowell County Government, and McDowell County Schools.
